pekpek, vagina

(c)

got your attention there, didn’t i??

anyway, this post goes out to all women out there celebrating International Women’s Month today… especially to my wife who puts up with all my moods and wackiness in and out of bed… so, will this post now talk about my sexual prowess [or the complete lack of it] in bed?? naahhh… i will spare you that honor horror…

what i want to talk about is that female bodily organ that has all of us males fighting among ourselves to get a piece of… yep that sometimes-hairy-sometimes-bald piece of meat between a woman’s pair of legs where we [yep, all of us, male and female alike] came from, and where all the future generations of this world will come out of…

why do we blush and look away when we hear the word vagina?? or for that matter, for Filipinos, when did the Tagalog word pekpek become such a bad word that we shy away from saying it in public?? or we blush from shock when we hear someone say it??

when did it become so offensive??

what in the world is going on with the world??

in Minnesota in the US, 2 high school students got into trouble for wearing buttons that say “I (heart) My Vagina” and in New York, 3 high school students were suspended for saying the word vagina… in a reading of the play called The Vagina Monologues!!

pekpek.jpgfortunately or unfortunately, in the Philippines, we don’t have those kinds of news, or they were quickly buried by tons of other news, like killings, robberies, and those useless speeches and positionings of our politicians…

i wouldn’t want my son/s or daughter/s to grow up in a world hating, or blushing at the thought of, the word for the female [or male, for that matter] sexual organ… i’d want them to find out how they were born, where they came from, how they came to be at an early age so that they don’t suffer ignorance of the female [and male] body growing up…

i worship the female body [go ask my wife], and i worship my wife’s the most… although i grew up in a strict Catholic upbringing, i don’t have the same squeamishness or disgust that most of the Filipinos display when talking about the female body… and i’d want my offsprings to be the same…

happy International Women’s Day, everyone!!

now, say them along with me:

VAGINA, VAGINA, VAGINA, VAGINA, VAGINA, VAGINA, VAGINA:D

Ciao, sweetie… 8)
