Manny Pacquiao’s mother threatened the Destroyer if he pushes thru in filing his candidacy for any position that he will lose a mother, and her support… it was reported before that Manny is thinking of running for mayor in his native city of General Santos… he was also being wooed by the LAKAS party to run under their banner as congressman of South Cotabato… even in today’s news, there was an item that American trainer Freddie Roach threatened to leave the fighter if ever he enters politics…
according to news reports, Manny’s mom said “mapili sya, magpatuloy sya, wala na sya nanay…” if ever he runs for office in May…
i will side with his mom in this… he has no right to run just because he is popular… though he hasn’t signified any intentions of running for any office yet, but his silence leaves a bad taste in the mouth of his supporters…
i just hope he makes up his mind soon, so that i can prepare to blast him to hell if he does, or praise him to high heavens if he doesn’t…

EDIT 20070131: Mom backed out!! in this morning’s news, Aling Dionisia Pacquiao capitulated to his son when they talked online early today… Manny said he is almost sure he will run for office… “kung yan ang kaligayahan mo, Manny, susuporta na ako sa iyo…”
this is not right… tsk tsk tsk…

i’m on her side as well. if you start a campaign for him to not be involve in politics, you’ll surely get my support.

mebbe, what we can do now is point out the facts why her son shouldn’t run for office…
we all know that he is a powerful figure when it comes to the boxing ring, but in the political ring, he might as well throw in the towel this early because he will just be a figurehead, albeit powerful, and will be used by scrupulous politicians for their own greed and need…
we’ll be meeting tomorrow, right?? mebbe we can talk about creating a manifesto for Manny to read?? hmmm…

I’ts the begining of the end of his career. He will surely win the war but he will loose the battle. The fame has gotten to his head. He can serve the people of GenSan best if he’s not into politics.
he sure can, and way better, too!! but i don’t think the fame has gone into his head… it was just that some politicians, particularly cohorts of the ruling party, are asking him… i believe he just feels that he owe these people…
if he really need to pay up, it must be to the people who really cheered him during his fights… the people who were with him whether he win or not… and no amount of politicking can bring good the people…

that’s all that i can say because Manny s not worth to be placed in the seat!
his mother just said it in a way that he can understand. mother knows best indeed….
besides, the bottom line is, mann is not really qualified to be a leader. but don’t get me wrong or anything, sure he is a great fighter, just not the type in sessions and meetings…. After all, he can barely speak english. but then again how could he, when he hasn’t finish high school!
and if you’d aske me, id say he cheated on that test, or worst paid for it…after all with the money e has, it is not far from reality!!!!!!!!!!!!! (b) (b) (b) bottoms uP maNNy!
