in retrospect…

the wife picked me up from work last week… she was driving, and so, my hands are free to do anything they want… ok, ok… it was not what you were thinking… i actually brought my camera [remember the Pentax??] to work, and i simply continued playing with myself it while in the car on the way home…

on the way, we saw this family of 4, a father and mother and 2 small kids travelling with us on the road… ON A FRIGGIN’ MOTORCYCLE!! and without helmets!!

when i saw this, i immediately took a shot, and here it is:

i agree the quality of the picture leaves much to be desired, but hey! i didn’t say i take good pictures, did i??

anyway, this is one accident waiting to happen… the father may not think that anything bad will happen to his family while riding with him on his puny motorcycle, but just one drunk driver will dash this wishful thinking to bits…

there should be a law against this [well, actually there is... i can already think of 2 broken laws]… this driver was not only putting his own family in danger, but other people as well…

for all of you out there who do the same thing as this man, i have a word for you: DON’T!!

i have been so busy these past days that i’ve totally neglected posting here… i have so many new posts i want to share with you, but alas! i am so pressed for time… you see, i have a new job now…

but anyway, these last few weeks also saw me using my new PENTAX K100D dSLR… i already have a veritable collection of new pictures, both in my pictures site, as well as hundreds more in my PC at home… i have to find time to sift through them, trash everything that needs trashing, and afterwards, put all of them in my pictures site…

haaayyyy…

anyway, i am sure i’ll be finding time in the next week or so…

i’ve recently had trouble with my hosting server that i was forced to re-install it from scratch… the good news was that i was able to upgrade the OS from SuSE Linux 8.2 to SuSE Enterprise 10.1, as well as upgrade all other packages previously installed… the bad news? i was only able to save the database up to July 30… all posts after are now irretrievably lost… well, that is except for about 3 posts which were posted using Windows Live Writer, which, i will be re-posting real soon…

but those posts that i really cared about are now gone… tsk tsk tsk… sayang…

but anyway, i’ve learned my lesson [too much confidence on my server...] and will now be backing up my data at least once every week…

oh well… valuable lesson learned…
