in retrospect…

this is one of those times that i wish we all will have… a quiet day… with nothing much to do except a few emails, a couple of phone calls, and nothing else after that… haaayyyy… i covet days like these…

i hate it when phone calls are coming from 3 different sources… all at the same time!!

i hate it when i have to answer emails left and right because of work issues… coming from the bosses!!

i hate it when i have to attend meetings outside the office [sometimes, even inside] when all they do is mouth off how inneficient we are [when it was they who are so slow, at the end of the day making us look slow]…

i hate it when i have to explain to higher ups why i made those decisions…

i hate it when i have lunch at 2pm simply because i have more pressing matters to attend than eat!!

i hate it!! i hate it!!

…but today is not one of those days… *sigh*

Apples and I went on a safari 2 Sundays ago… nope, not the kind where you have to go to Africa, buy safari gear and a rifle [or a binocular and camera, as the case warrants], and shoot animals [both figurative and literally] that you see… this is the kind where you get in your car, go all the way to Forest Adventure Park, Ilanin Forest in Subic, Olongapo City, and look at different animals up close… more like a zoo, but an interactive zoo, instead…

we had a guide, and we went around the safari the usual way… the guide pointing out to us the peculiarities of each animal, their names and genders, where they were from, and such mundane details you would never normally want/need to hear… but in this case, these narratives were very much appreciated by everyone in our little group…

the Japanese people are all comedians… but their sense of humor sometimes lead to headaches… literally!! but this clip sure is funny!! the language is in… well… Japanese so you wouldn’t be able to understand, but the clip is self-explanatory…

the last segment really made me laugh, people at the office thought i was going crazy!! but then again, maybe i really am!! :s

and that is the absolute truth… it is us people who are responsible for the extreme heat, and the frigid coldness, we are experiencing… have you heard of el niño and la niña?? yep, them kids are our offsprings…

inconsiderate burning of rubber and plastic materials, indiscriminate emmision of carbon monoxide, and continuous use of chlorofluorocarbons [CFCs] are just some of the ways we contribute to the growing degradation of the environment…

i wish we’d just stop and think if what we’re doing is harmful or not… if it is, we can probably find another way of doing things… like for example, using biogas instead of fossil fuel to run our cars, or making sure our vehicles are clean so that we lessen the carbon monoxide emmission, etc… there are so many things we can do to stop global warming… i know a person can only do so much, but if each of us do our own share, and if we put all of these together, this will amount to such that we will be able to undo what we’ve done…

if we do our share of protecting the environment, our children, and our children’s children, will reap everything mother nature can give… please help… (f)

i work for a content provider as an applications development manager… i have 10 people working under me, all developers, of course… one good thing about my work is that my people almost always become my friends, almost family… i joke around with them during lunch time… i always make it a point to know their problems, even personal ones… and though i don’t drink, i take them out for drinks every once in a while… in short, i look out for them the best i can… just like i look out for my own family and friends…

and when everything was running smoothly, what with a very big project coming in starting next month, where i need ALL of them in that project, suddenly, resignations left and right come to my table!! i have now 7 resignees, and there was news that i can expect another one tomorrow… all in a span of 15 days!!

and that is where one questions oneself… have i done anything wrong to deserve this? even if they tell me that it was not because of me but due to “greener pastures”, i still can’t shake this feeling off that, somehow, this was all because of me… i wish that this were not true… but still…

but one thing i want to tell you guys, it is not always “green” on the other side of the fence… it may look green now, you may see more grass on the other side [heck! they can even be real for all i care!!], but it will not last, and it may not always be to your advantage… HR may be telling you one thing, but the people you’d be working with might tell you another…

but then again, i am not sourgraping… far from it… i wish them all the luck in the world, they sure deserve it…

i just wish they’d done this later… *sigh*

i just tried to find out who the owner is the other day [because previous owner just parked it somewhere, and whenever you tried to access the site, it forwards to a XXX site], when, voila!! WHOIS said that no one owns it!!

so, i immediately went to my domain registrar and registered it!!

it is now mine!! :[ BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!
